Raven and Stars
Ravens are terrific, and inspire wonder and blame wherever they are found. The adults are territorial, socially binary, clever, playful, and neurotic. The juveniles clump together in raucous gangs. This drawing started out as a graphite sketch, which I scanned and then colored in Photoshop. It is my impression of the moment when Raven releases the stars, having stolen them, in Robinhood fashion, from a greedy chief. It seems this narrative is told across the Pacific Northwest.
