In the form of fiery tongues, the Holy Spirit descends upon Mary and the Apostles after they had hid and prayed in the upper room. This would spark the great work of evangelization that sets the world afire with the Good News of Christ. The image comes from the Workshop of the Bedford Master (Paris, France about 1440 – 1450).
